This policy covers the instant quote tool on this site. It explains what the page collects, what leaves your browser and who it goes to.
Varsity Heating & Cooling ("Varsity", "we", "us") is an HVAC contractor serving the Puget Sound region of Washington. We operate varsityheating.com and the landing pages we run for paid advertising, including this one.
What this page collects
The quote tool works in two stages, and they are deliberately different.
Before you see a price, we ask five questions: your ZIP code, the system you want installed, the size of your home, the type of home, and whether you own it. Condos and manufactured homes get one extra question about where an outdoor unit can go. None of this identifies you. We do not ask for your name, phone number or email to show you a price.
When you book a visit, we collect your name, phone number, email address, home address, and how your current system is doing, along with the date and arrival window you chose.
We also record the quote itself, the page you were on, and any advertising parameters in the URL, such as which ad you clicked. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Stored in your browser
Your answers and your quote are saved in your browser's local storage so you do not have to answer the questions again if you come back. This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it, as does the "Start over with a different home" link on the page.
How we use it
- To calculate and show your estimated price.
- To contact you by phone, text and email about the quote and the visit you booked.
- To schedule, confirm and carry out the appointment.
- To measure which ads bring in work, so we know where to spend.
- For record keeping, tax, licensing and warranty purposes.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
Calls and texts
When you confirm a booking, you agree that Varsity may call and text you at the number you gave us about your quote and your appointment, including by automated or pre-recorded means. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below.
Who we share it with
These providers process information on our behalf, for the purposes we instruct:

Advertising and measurement
This page uses the Meta Pixel. It sets cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and reports back to Meta so we can measure our ads and reach people likely to need our services.
Nothing identifying is reported to Meta until after a price is shown to you. Loading the page reports a page view. Seeing your price reports an event with no personal details attached. Only when you enter your contact details on the booking screen do we report a lead.
At that point we also send Meta a copy of that event directly from our server, through their Conversions API. Your email address, phone number, name and ZIP code are hashed before they are sent, meaning they are converted into an irreversible string, and Meta uses them only to match the event to an account it already has. Your browser type, IP address and Meta's own advertising cookies are also included.
You can control this in your Facebook Ad Preferences, opt out of interest based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance, or block cookies in your browser. Blocking them does not stop the quote tool from working.
How long we keep it
We keep lead and customer records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet legal, tax, licensing and warranty obligations. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Security
Everything is sent over HTTPS. Data held by the providers above is covered by their own security controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your rights
You can:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep.
- Opt out of marketing calls, texts and email.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top. Material changes will be posted here before they take effect.
